A major rescue operation is underway after the roof of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapsed. Reports confirm that eight people, including two engineers, two operators, and four workers, are trapped inside.

The government has sent teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Army to help with the rescue efforts. Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao visited the site to assess the situation and guide officials.

As part of the rescue mission, oxygen is being supplied into the tunnel. Efforts are also being made to pump out the water that has accumulated inside. Minister Jupally Krishna Rao explained that the debris and water are making the rescue process difficult, but teams are working continuously to clear them.
