Former MLA Shakil Aamir’s son, Raheel, also known as Sahel, was arrested by Hyderabad police at Shamshabad airport this morning. Raheel had been on the run since escaping police custody after a car accident near ‘Praja Bhavan’ on December 24.
During the accident, Raheel was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when he crashed a luxury car into a barricade near Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Begumpet. Despite being the driver at the time of the incident, Raheel tried to avoid legal consequences by falsely claiming someone else was behind the wheel.
Raheel’s attempt to deceive authorities did not succeed, leading to his arrest at Shamshabad airport. He will now face charges related to the accident and his escape from police custody.
