Nagarkurnool, Telangana – A major road safety drive led by District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath has resulted in the seizure of 40 vehicles during a special inspection in the Kalwakurthy constituency.
The checks took place at Kotra Junction in Veldanda mandal. The operation was closely monitored by Kalwakurthy DSP Venkateshwarlu and Circle Inspector Vishnuvardhan Reddy. Police teams from Veldanda, Kalwakurthy, Charakonda, Vangoor, and Urukonda police stations joined forces for this enforcement effort.
The inspection revealed several violations:
– 2 drivers were caught drunk driving
– 8 had no valid driving licenses
– 17 were driving without insurance
– 13 vehicles lacked number plates
In total, police seized 27 two-wheelers, 11 cars, and 2 other vehicles. Officials filed cases against the violators and presented them before the Kalwakurthy Magistrate.
Speaking to the media, SP Gaikwad made it clear: authorities will take strict action against anyone driving under the influence, without proper documents, or with missing number plates. He emphasized that road rules are not optional and urged all citizens to follow traffic laws for their own safety and for the safety of others.
The SP also confirmed that more surprise checks like this will continue throughout Nagarkurnool district to improve road discipline and reduce accidents.
