Matta Ragamayee, a doctor-turned-politician, won her first-ever election in 2023 from the Sathupalli SC reserved constituency. She stands out as the only female MLA from Khammam district and the sole SC woman MLA in the entire state. Her name has been gaining attention as political dynamics in the state shift frequently.

Tummala Nageswara Rao, a senior political figure in the district, believes Ragamayee has a strong chance of being made a minister in the Congress government. He highlighted her credentials, stating that she is well-educated, belongs to the SC community, and qualifies under the 33% female quota for leadership positions.

Sathupalli has a history of producing influential leaders. Former MLA and Congress leader Jalagam Vengala Rao once served as both a central minister and Chief Minister. Tummala Nageswara Rao, currently the agriculture minister in Revanth Reddy’s cabinet, has previously held ministerial roles under leaders like NTR, Chandrababu, and KCR when Sathupalli was a general constituency. Additionally, former MLA Sandra Venkat Veeraiah became a TTD Board member.

Ragamayee is known for her active presence in the constituency, often addressing public concerns with the support of her husband and senior politician, Matta Dayanadh.

The people of Sathupalli are optimistic and hope that their MLA, Ragamayee, will soon be appointed as a minister.
