Maha Shivaratri Celebrations at Jogulamba Temple from February 25

Jogulamba Temple authorities have announced that the Sri Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy Maha Shivaratri Mahotsavam will take place from February 25, 2025 (Tuesday) to March 1, 2025 (Saturday). Devotees are invited to take part in the grand celebrations.

The festival will begin on February 25, 2025, with several religious rituals. These include Go Pradakshina, Punyahavachanam, Maha Ganapati Puja, Ritwik Varunam, and Maha Kalasha Sthapana, starting at 8:00 AM. Later in the evening, the Dwajarohanam (flag hoisting ceremony) will take place at 6:00 PM.

The main Maha Shivaratri celebrations will be held on February 26, 2025 (Wednesday). The day will start with a special Abhishekam to the deity at 5:30 AM. At midnight, during the Lingodbhava time, special Yama Pujas will be conducted. A significant event of the day will be the Akasadeepa Pravajanam (lighting of the celestial lamp) by Shiva Swamis.

Another major highlight will be the grand Kalyanotsavam (celestial wedding) of Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy, which will take place at 2:00 AM. The temple authorities encourage devotees to attend in large numbers and seek the divine blessings of Sri Jogulamba Bala Brahmeshwara Swamy during this sacred festival.
