Hyderabad: The Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra took place peacefully in Hyderabad on Sunday. City Police Commissioner CV Anand said the event went smoothly thanks to the efforts of the organizers, various government departments, devotees, and the people of the city.
During the procession, Commissioner Anand gave regular instructions to field staff and worked closely with officers from different departments. He personally visited the route in the morning and encouraged the Sri Rama Navami Utsav Committee to begin the yatra early.
The main procession passed through several key areas, including Mangalhat, Begum Bazar Chatri, Siddiambar Bazaar, Gowliguda Kaman, Gurudwara, Putli Bowli Chowrasta, and finally reached Hanuman Gymnasium in Sultan Bazaar.
A Joint Command and Control Centre was set up at the ICCC Building on Road No. 12. Officials from several departments—RTC, R&B, GHMC, EMRI, Fire Department, Electricity Department, and Traffic Police—monitored the event closely and gave timely instructions to their teams.
Commissioner Anand used drone footage and CCTV cameras to watch the event in real time. He communicated with officers on the ground using radios and WhatsApp groups. Senior officers like Vikram Singh Mann (Additional CP, Law & Order) and Joel Davis (Joint CP, Traffic) were also present to help manage the procession.
To ensure safety, around 20,000 police personnel were deployed throughout the city during the yatra.
