University of Hyderabad Students Oppose Campus Relocation Rumors

Hyderabad: The Students Union at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has strongly opposed reports suggesting that the university campus may be moved to the outskirts of the city. They claim this is being done to turn the current campus into an eco-park. The union described this plan, allegedly backed by the Congress government, as an attempt to harm public education.

According to the Students Union, the rumors are based on unconfirmed reports that have appeared in the media. They believe that these claims are being spread by the Congress party’s IT Cell to test how students, teachers, and the public will react to the idea of relocating the university.

The union stressed that the land where the university stands belongs to UoH and is meant only for educational use. They said the area is important not just for learning, but also for its environment and cultural value. They warned that any effort to change its purpose under the excuse of building an eco-park would be strongly opposed.

The Students Union also pointed out that they have always demanded that university land be managed by the university itself. They believe the current rumors are trying to weaken their rightful efforts and confuse both students and the public. They insisted that the land should stay focused on education and protecting the natural environment of the campus.

Despite political and legal pressure from the Congress government, the union said their movement has stayed strong. They credited the courts’ timely involvement and the unity of the student body for stopping any harmful changes.

In conclusion, the Students Union called the entire issue misleading and politically motivated. They said such actions show weakness and dishonesty. The union made it clear that they will continue to fight to protect both the university’s educational mission and the ecological balance of the campus.
