MLA D Sridhar Babu visited Malahar mandal in Karimnagar district to inspect the crops damaged by rains and backwater. He called for immediate support and compensation for the affected farmers. Sridhar Babu emphasized the need for a joint survey to assess the damage and provide assistance to the farmers.
The MLA also highlighted the issue of sand accumulation in the fields, which costs a significant amount for small farmers. He urged the government to remove the sand and bear the expenses, as it is difficult for the farmers to afford it themselves.
So far, neither the Central nor the State governments have provided compensation to the farmers who have suffered losses. Sridhar Babu stressed that it is the government’s responsibility to protect the farmers by constructing karakatta and offering a special package of support.
