Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has strongly condemned the offensive remarks made by BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. He criticized the BJP’s attitude toward women and described the incident as a reflection of the party’s outdated and regressive mindset.

In a statement, the minister highlighted the contributions of the Gandhi family to India’s history. He said, “The Gandhi family has made immense sacrifices for the nation. A simple look at history reveals their invaluable contributions. For BJP leaders to resort to such disrespectful language against a member of this iconic family is unacceptable and undemocratic.”

Sridhar Babu went on to point out the seriousness of the issue, stating that targeting a woman leader with offensive remarks is an insult to democracy. He added, “Women hold a place of respect in Indian society. The BJP, which often claims to champion Indian culture and values, must explain why such disgraceful comments were made by one of their candidates.”

The minister also urged the BJP leadership to reflect on their conduct and avoid making derogatory statements for political gains or media attention. He questioned why someone lacking basic respect for women was allowed to contest as a BJP candidate. “The BJP’s top leadership must take responsibility for this incident and ensure accountability,” he concluded.
