According to the police, they received a complaint on January 4 regarding a theft that took place during the night between December 30 and December 31, 2024. The theft involved three batteries stolen from heavy vehicles (DCMs) parked at Old Patigadda, Begumpet. The accused were later apprehended near Rasoolpura X Roads.

Investigations revealed that the accused would scout for unguarded and isolated vehicle parking areas. On the night of the theft, Sohail, aided by Ibad, arrived at Patigadda on a stolen bike without a number plate. They stole the batteries from the parked vehicle and fled the scene.

Further inquiries uncovered that the prime accused, Sohail, had also stolen two two-wheelers—one from Begumpet and another from Marredpally—with the assistance of a minor. Sohail had a prior arrest record for a two-wheeler theft within the jurisdiction of the Tukaramgate police station.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
