    Vikas Raj, the State Chief Electoral Officer, emphasized the need for all arrangements to be in place for the counting of parliamentary elections on June 4. He conducted a video conference with District Election Officers and Assistant Returning Officers to review the preparations. District Collector B.M. Santhosh and Additional Collector Apoorva Chauhan also participated in this meeting.

    During the conference, Vikas Raj stressed the importance of completing arrangements for the election counting smoothly. He highlighted the need for strong security at the counting centers and only allowing individuals with identity cards to enter. The counting process should adhere strictly to specified rounds in the counting hall for each assembly segment, with details being entered online after each round.

    On June 4, postal ballot votes will begin at 8:00 am, followed by the counting of votes from EVM machines. Officials must work together to ensure the counting process is completed on time according to Election Commission guidelines. Counting centers should be arranged to facilitate a calm and efficient environment. Counting staff and agents are prohibited from bringing electronic gadgets into the counting hall.

    A special media center will be established at each counting center to announce results, with a senior district officer appointed as in-charge. After results are announced, vehicles will be prepared to transport EVM machines to storage. RDO Ram Chander, Superintendent of Election Department Naresh, and others were present at the meeting.
