Hyderabad: The State Government has responded to safety concerns by forming a four-member committee to investigate a significant explosion at a chemical factory in the Pashamylaram industrial area of Sangareddy district. This committee is tasked with identifying what caused the blast and will deliver a report within a month.
Led by scientist B Venkateswhar Rao from CSIR–IICT, the group will explore the reasons behind the June 30 explosion at the Sigachi factory. This tragic incident resulted in over 40 fatalities and numerous injuries. The committee will verify if the factory followed standard safety procedures for workers.
Additionally, the investigation will assess whether the company adhered to necessary chemical and industrial processes or if there were any violations. Officials mentioned that a preliminary report from the Director of Factories is already being reviewed.
The findings from the committee’s report will be vital in determining any actions against the factory’s management.
