    Several parts of the state experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday, providing much-needed relief from the summer heat and bringing down temperatures. The twin cities, along with Vikarabad, Zaheerabad, Ibrahimpatnam, Yacharam, Manchala Mandal, Abdullahpurmet, Dandumailaram, Pocharam, Nallamandi village, Bodakonda, Ellamma Thanda, and other areas witnessed heavy rain and hailstorm.

    In Nizamabad, a ragging incident took place at Tirumala Dental Pharmacy College on the outskirts of Bardipur in Ditchpalli mandal. Male students from the Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree third year harassed second year female students, who lodged a complaint with the police.

    District Collector Rajevgandhi Hanumanthu of Nizamabad appealed to bidders to participate in the auction of Dhatri township plots. The government has reduced the price from Rs 8,000 to Rs 6,000 per square yard.

    Former minister Konda Surekha expressed concern over the leak of TSPSC question papers during the recruitment exam for engineers in various departments.     Commissioner of Police L Subbarayudu of Karimnagar emphasized that driving under the influence of alcohol will be treated as a serious crime as it leads to accidents. The motorists caught drinking alcohol were counselled in the presence of their family members at the open theater premises of the commissionerate on Thursday.
