A tragic incident occurred in Pata Chirala village, Bapatla district, where a young student lost her life after being struck by lightning. The unfortunate event happened on Thursday during heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
The victim, Tulasi, was a student pursuing a Food Technology Engineering course. She had come to her grandmother’s village just two days earlier to spend the Dasara holidays. On the morning of the incident, as rain poured down with thunder and lightning, Tulasi went to the terrace to collect clothes that had been left out to dry.
Sadly, while on the terrace, Tulasi was struck by lightning and died on the spot.
Local police arrived at the scene shortly after and registered a case. The body was then sent to the hospital for a postmortem examination.
