Nagarkurnool: Students from the Government Science Degree College in Nellikonda, Nagarkurnool district, have approached District SP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath with a serious problem.
The students reported that a nearby boiled rice mill is releasing hazardous black pollutants every day. These pollutants are affecting the college environment. When students arrive at the college, they experience symptoms like headaches, eye irritation, and breathing difficulties.
About 100 students met with SP Gaikwad to explain that the pollution is so severe it is affecting their ability to attend classes and study. They pleaded with him to take immediate action to protect them from this issue.
The faculty members are also suffering due to the pollution. The students expressed their frustration that, despite informing the rice mill management about this issue two weeks ago, no action has been taken.
SP Gaikwad took the students’ concerns seriously and assured them that the issue would be resolved immediately. He mentioned that he would discuss the matter with the District Collector to ensure swift justice for the students.
He encouraged the students to focus on their studies and assured them that it was his responsibility to address their concerns. He sent them back to the college with a promise to resolve the issue promptly.
