Commuters in Hyderabad are not using suburban train services because the timings are inconvenient. The Suburban Train Travelers Association and residents have submitted a request to the South Central Railway officials to revise the timings. Although new services have been introduced, such as the Secunderabad to Medchal and Falaknuma to Umdanagar routes, they are not helping because the timings do not suit passengers. For example, train no-47233 (Secunderabad-Medchal) starts running at 10am, which is not suitable for those who need to be at work from 9am to 5pm. The first train arrives at Secunderabad at around 9:45am, which is not helpful. The General Secretary for LT (long train) and MMTS, Noor Ahmed, said that trains are mostly empty due to unsuitable timings.

IT employees have also requested that MMTS services begin directly from Medchal to Lingampalli, but this has not been considered. Noor Ahmed added that they have submitted a proposal to begin the first train at 8am onwards. Daily passenger Gopal Reddy prefers to travel by MMTS trains because they are cheaper than other public transport, but is forced to use a bus due to unsuitable timings. They also suggest increasing the train frequency.
