Former Union Minister Sujana Chowdary, also known as Y S Chowdary, has been chosen as a candidate by the BJP for the Vijayawada West Assembly seat in Andhra Pradesh. This decision is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes an electoral alliance between the BJP, Telugu Desam Party, and Jana Sena for the upcoming general elections.
In addition to Chowdary, the BJP has fielded Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh and nine other candidates from different seats in the state. Some of these candidates have previously been associated with the TDP and BJP.
Among the candidates are N Eswara Rao, P Vishnu Kumar Raju, Pangi Raja Rao, M Shiva Krishnam Raju, Kamineni Srinivas, Bojja Roshanna, C Adinrayana Reddy, Dr P V Parthasarathi, and Y Satya Kumar. The BJP is also reportedly seeking more seats in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The political landscape within the NDA is evolving as parties finalize their candidates and alliances. For instance, the TDP recently changed its candidate for a constituency and allotted it to Jana Sena. The YSR Congress made a similar move in response to the BJP fielding CM Ramesh in a particular Lok Sabha seat.
As the election approaches, more developments are expected within the alliances and candidate selections. Time will tell how these decisions impact the overall political scenario in Andhra Pradesh.
