Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy is a notable name in Indian politics. He was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) from 2012 until 2019. Born on March 25, 1942, in Mahbubnagar, he pursued a BA in History from Osmania College in Kurnool in 1964 and later completed an LLB from Osmania University Law College in Hyderabad in 1967.
Reddy’s political journey included serving as a member of both the 12th and 14th Lok Sabha, representing Nalgonda in Telangana. He was significant in his role as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour and was a key figure in various mass movements.
