In Hyderabad, a door-to-door Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste Survey (SEEEPC) is currently underway. However, many families living in apartment complexes are feeling left out and worried. The surveyors are only placing one sticker on the entire apartment building and conducting the survey for just one family, usually the owner’s family. This is causing concern because each family in these buildings may have different socio-economic conditions, educational backgrounds, job statuses, political views, and caste identities.
Residents argue that by surveying just one family, the survey is incomplete. People from the Federation of Sectors Welfare Associations in Jubilee Hills have voiced their concerns. Mohammed Asif Hussain Sohail, who lives in Surya Nagar Colony, Shaikpet, shared that several families in his apartment complex were ignored. He stressed that it’s the responsibility of senior officials to ensure the survey is done thoroughly.
This issue isn’t isolated to one area. Naresh Kumar, a resident of Sri Colony in Neredmet crossroads, pointed out that his apartment has 10 families, but only one was surveyed. When he asked the survey staff about the other families, they simply placed one sticker and left without addressing the rest.
Many families from different apartment buildings across the city have reported the same problem to The Hans India. They feel that the survey is not covering everyone, which could lead to incomplete or inaccurate data.
Another major issue with the survey is related to door numbers. In certain areas, especially in the Old City, residents have noticed that door numbers with obliques (such as 20-5-100/A or 17-5-300/1) are being ignored. Mohammed Ahmed, a spokesperson for the TDP’s state minority wing, explained that surveyors are only recording the base number (like 20-5-100 or 17-5-300), while completely missing the additional door numbers that have slashes. This has raised concerns that not all households are being properly counted in the survey.
