A fire broke out in the endoscopy chamber near the emergency ward at AIIMS Delhi. Eight fire tenders were sent to handle the situation and the fire was successfully controlled.
All patients and staff in the area were safely evacuated after a fire alert was received from the emergency ward at 11:54 pm. A video of the incident has been released.
AIIMS has stated that the situation is under control and the Director is present at the site to assess the situation. The endoscopy chamber is located on the second level of the Old Outpatient Department (OPD) building. The fire occurred on the second floor of the Old Raj Kumari OPD Building.
Firefighters have managed to control the fire, but a search operation is still ongoing according to the Fire Department.
