Ordering food online has become a habit for people in Hyderabad. Swiggy and Zomato are the popular platforms for food delivery in the city. As the year comes to an end, Swiggy has released a report on the most ordered dishes in 2023, called “How India Swiggyd-2023”.
According to the report, biryani is the most loved dish in Hyderabad. It received the highest number of orders compared to other cities in the country. Biryani also happens to be Swiggy’s best-selling dish of the year, making it the top choice for the eighth consecutive year.
The report revealed that a staggering 2.5 biryanis were sold per second. In January alone, 4.30 lakh biryanis were ordered. From January 1 to November 23, a total of 2.49 biryani orders were received. Interestingly, there was one person from Hyderabad who ordered a whopping 1,633 biryanis in a single order.
Apart from biryani, the people of Hyderabad also ordered idlis worth Rs.6 lakh. The cities with the highest number of orders after Hyderabad are Delhi and Chennai.
Overall, the love for biryani in Hyderabad is evident from the high number of orders, making it a popular choice among residents.
