Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has launched a new musical center named ‘Tanmayam’ at the Railway Mixed High School in South Lallaguda, Secunderabad. Santosh Kumar Verma, the Divisional Railway Manager of the Hyderabad Division, and Asha Verma, the President of the Hyderabad Division Women’s Welfare Organization, opened the center on Friday.
Santosh Kumar Verma emphasized that the center will allow students to pursue musical interests while learning discipline and appreciating culture. He stated, “This initiative is about more than just music; it helps shape well-rounded personalities. Encouraging creativity boosts children’s confidence and participation in cultural events both at divisional and inter-divisional levels.”
The center is stocked with various musical instruments, and students will receive structured training to develop their skills. SCR officials mentioned that this project demonstrates their dedication to enhancing the educational setting of railway schools. Asha Verma highlighted the significance of combining academics with extracurricular activities like music to help students become well-rounded individuals. She stressed that nurturing music and cultural values in children establishes a strong foundation for their future.
