Hyderabad: From September 8th to 12th, 2025, the Stanley College of Engineering for Women held a successful training program on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Drone Technology. This event was organized with the help of the ACM-W Student Chapter and the CSI Student Branch.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Korra Lakshman, who is the Additional Director at NIELIT Hyderabad, spoke to the attendees. He explained that IoT connects everyday items to the internet. This technology allows us to control things like household devices and vehicles remotely.

Dr. Lakshman also highlighted IoT’s impact on various fields, including agriculture, healthcare, and smart cities. Discussing Drone Technology, he noted its use in agriculture for spraying, in defense for watching over areas, in managing disasters for rescue missions, and in the film industry. He stressed that combining IoT with drones can be very effective. For instance, drones equipped with IoT can gather real-time data, helping farmers monitor crop health efficiently and economically.

Dr. B. L. Raju, the college principal, shared that IoT and drones are significant tools for the future. He pointed out that these technologies are opening up new possibilities in industry and agriculture. He encouraged engineering students to learn about and use these technologies for societal progress.
