TDP MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao from Tiruvuru has made controversial remarks against farmers. During a recent meeting, he said, “even dogs have loyalty, which some people lack.” His comments have sparked a lot of anger, especially among members of his own party. Many believe he was targeting farmers for not supporting him.
The controversy grew after an incident involving the wife of Chityala Sarpanch, Tummalapalli Srinivasa Rao. She allegedly attempted suicide by taking sleeping pills after hearing that Kolikapudi had made threats against her husband. This led to protests by local TDP leaders in Thiruvuru, who filed complaints with the party leadership.
In a public address, Kolikapudi expressed frustration, saying he had spent large amounts of money to clean out agricultural canals for farmers but felt they had abandoned him. He then repeated that even dogs were more loyal, suggesting the farmers were ungrateful. His comments went viral on social media, causing even more public outrage.
Tummalapalli Srinivasa Rao also accused Kolikapudi of verbally abusing him without reason and sending people to attack him. These serious accusations have made the situation worse, leading to more protests by TDP supporters in Tiruvuru. Many party leaders have asked for an investigation into Kolikapudi’s behavior, stating they are not happy with how he has acted.
