TDP MP Putta Mahesh Kumar Gets Station Bail in Moinabad Drugs Case

HyderabadTelugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, an ally of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from Andhra Pradesh, has been granted station bail following his arrest in a drug bust case at Moinabad. The bail was granted on grounds that he needs to attend Parliament sessions. The MP was among several individuals detained by Telangana Police during a raid at the farmhouse of former MLA Rohit Reddy in Moinabad, Hyderabad.

The situation escalated when Namith Sharma, identified as a friend of Putta Mahesh Kumar, allegedly fired four rounds at the police during the raid. This incident has been registered as a separate and more serious case by the authorities. The firing at law enforcement officers has added another layer of gravity to the ongoing investigation.

Along with the TDP MP, a woman identified as Priyanka Reddy was also granted station bail by the Telangana Police. Meanwhile, two other individuals involved in the case, Arjun Reddy and Kaushik Ravi, have given written undertakings to the police stating they would undergo a 45-day rehabilitation program. They have also promised to remain available for any further inquiry by investigating officers.

The remaining detainees, including former MLA Rohit Reddy at whose farmhouse the raid was conducted, are expected to be produced before the court shortly. The police are continuing their investigation into the drug bust case and examining the connections between all the individuals involved in the incident.

The granting of station bail to a sitting Member of Parliament on the grounds of parliamentary duties has drawn attention to the case. The Telangana Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and further details will be revealed as the probe progresses. All individuals granted bail have been instructed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation and remain available for questioning.
