    The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh announced their plans for the upcoming Assembly elections. TDP President and former Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, unveiled the first part of the party’s two-part poll manifesto titled ‘Bhavishathku guarantee’ (Guarantee for future). Naidu announced several welfare schemes, including financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each year to farmers under the scheme named ‘Annadatha’. He also promised monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 to women aged 18 to 59 years under ‘Adabidda Nidhi’ and Rs 15,000 annually for every mother under ‘Thalliki Vandanam’.

    Additionally, the TDP promised free travel for women in state-owned buses, free drinking water to every household, and protection to the backward classes through legislation. Under their ‘Yuvashakthi’ scheme, the party promised 20 lakh jobs in five years and a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 for every educated unemployed person. The TDP also promised three free gas cylinders every year per household under the ‘Deepam’ scheme.

    The party’s second part of their poll manifesto will be released by Dasara. Naidu sought feedback on the manifesto from the public. He also demanded the withdrawal of Rs 500 notes while welcoming the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes. The TDP aims to double the income of poor people if voted to power.
