Karimnagar: Around 2,102 contract residential teachers (CRTs) at Ashram High Schools, managed by the Tribal Welfare Department, received their overdue salaries during the Dasara festival on Thursday. These teachers had not been paid for the last five months.
Malothu Someshwar, president of the Tribal Welfare Ashram High School Contract Residential Teachers Association, addressed the issue with Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar. The minister took immediate action, resulting in the release of Rs 9 crore in pending salaries in time for Dussehra.
The Finance Department issued a continuation order for this academic year on September 17, ensuring that salaries were paid to everyone under the Bhadrachalam, Ootnur, Eturunagaram, and Mannunur ITDA limits. The association expressed gratitude to Laxman Kumar and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for facilitating the salary payments, according to Someshwar.
