Hyderabad experienced a remarkable event on November 28, 2025, as the Suchirindia Foundation celebrated its annual Sankalp Divas at Mountain Heights, Shilparamam. This event, marking the birthday of Lion Dr. Y. Kiron, focused on honoring social contributors and bringing joy to children from special schools.
This year, the Sankalp Kiron Puraskar was presented to Jadav Payeng, known for his outstanding societal contributions, and M. Venkaiah Naidu, a Padma Shri awardee. Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu, the former Vice President of India, was the chief guest. The event featured captivating performances by children from 50 special schools, showcasing their musical and dance talents.
Lion Dr. Y. Kiron, both a humanitarian and a businessman, discussed the motivation behind Sankalp Divas and his dedication to making a significant societal impact. He remarked on the event’s special nature, emphasizing how these celebrations bring joy and inspiration, especially when interacting with spirited children.
Dr. Kiron called on governments and communities to support children with disabilities, promote organic farming, and develop villages. He also highlighted the urgent need to address drug abuse among youth, urging collective action.
Jadav Payeng, receiving the Sankalp Kiron Puraskar, expressed his gratitude and admiration for Dr. Kiron’s dedication to social service. He emphasized the importance of societal contributions over personal gains, sharing his realization during the lockdown.
The chief guest, Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu, praised Dr. Kiron’s commitment to social service, describing it as inspirational. He acknowledged Dr. Kiron’s positive impact on numerous children’s lives and encouraged him to continue inspiring others.
The event also honored other unsung heroes through the Sankalp Seva Puraskar, such as Mr. Balaji Tarini (Telangana Weather Man), Mr. Khwaja Moinuddin (Social Activist & Nawab’s Kitchen), Mr. C. Praveen Kumar Yadhav, and Mr. Polina Chandra Sekhar (Founder of We Are Foundation). The children’s performances underscored their resilience, proving that disabilities do not hinder talent.
