The Nagar Kurnool Lions Club, under the leadership of its president Dodla Radha Reddy, celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The event took place in Nagar Kurnool town and was attended by former Lions Governor Radhakrishna as the chief guest.
During his speech, Radhakrishna highlighted the significant role that teachers play in shaping the future of individuals. He pointed out that teachers not only provide education but also help students discover their strengths, interests, and values, guiding them toward success in life.
Radhakrishna also praised the Lions Club for its ongoing contributions to government schools in the Nagar Kurnool area. He emphasized the important role teacher-members have played in the growth and development of the club.
As part of the celebration, several teacher-members were honored. These included Darshi Rajayya, Vasa Raghavender, Lagishetti Kodanda Ramulu, Rachuri Venkatraj, Pola Srinivasulu, Donthu Shankar, Prem Kumar Reddy, Bhagya Lakshmi, Chandrashekar Reddy, and Zone Chairman Shiva Srinivas.
Following the felicitation ceremony, an advisory meeting was held under the leadership of Zone Chairman Shiva Srinivas. Presidents, secretaries, and treasurers from clubs in Nagar Kurnool, Achampet, and Jadcherla participated. Among those present were club president Dodla Radha Reddy, chief guest Radhakrishna, Region Chairman Tepp Sreenu, secretary Vasa Lakshmi, and many other former club presidents and community leaders.
