The Telangana Assembly has approved the BC Reservation Bill, generating much talk throughout the state. This new law removes the old limit on reservations in panchayats, now granting a 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs). Minister Seethakka supported the bill during the session.
In addition to the BC Reservation Bill, the Congress-led government proposed changes to the Panchayat Raj Act 285A and the Municipal Act. These amendments aim to reform local governance systems.
