Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently met Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution, Prahlad Joshi, in New Delhi. He was accompanied by State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. The meeting focused on discussing the state’s pending financial dues.

During the discussion, CM Revanth Reddy formally requested the Centre to release ₹1,468.94 crore, which has been pending since the 2014-15 financial year for paddy procurement. He also urged the immediate release of ₹343.27 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) for rice supplied under the scheme.

In addition, the Telangana delegation sought an extension of the deadline for delivering custom-milled rice. The state government is pushing for these funds to ensure that farmers receive their payments on time and that the public distribution system runs smoothly.
