Telangana faces heavy rain alert in 15 districts until July 9

Heavy rain warnings are in place for 15 districts in Telangana, as announced by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue until July 9. Districts like Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Medak, and Kamareddy are included in this alert.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre predicts storms with lightning and gusty winds up to 40 kmph in some areas. This weather pattern is likely to last for the next few days.

Since Tuesday, Hyderabad has been experiencing light rain and overcast skies. Notably, Garla in Mahabubabad reported the highest rainfall at 85.3 mm. Burgampahad in Bhadradri Kothagudem saw 72.3 mm, while Singareni in Khammam received 62 mm.

In Greater Hyderabad, notable rainfall was recorded with Shaikpet receiving 43.8 mm, Banjara Hills 43 mm, Khairatabad 40 mm, and Gunfoundry and Malakpet both seeing 37 mm.

The IMD advises that light to moderate rain or thundershowers will continue across Telangana through July 9. Residents should keep an eye on weather updates and be cautious, especially when traveling.
