Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao instructs officials to settle outstanding payments to Sugarcane Farmers

Finance Minister Harish Rao has ordered officials to pay the overdue bills to sugarcane farmers who supplied Trident Sugar Factory in Sangareddy district. The factory owes Rs. 12.05 crores to the farmers. Harish Rao expressed his frustration during a meeting at his residence in Hyderabad, stating that the factory owner had promised to pay by June 25 but has not done so. He also instructed officials to pay outstanding dues to employees immediately.

Harish Rao issued a warning that if the factory fails to pay the bills on time, its properties will be auctioned off to compensate the farmers. He added that the factory’s license will be revoked and the zone will be removed if they continue to neglect their responsibilities. The minister requested a written timeline from the factory management for payment of the overdue bills.

The meeting was attended by State Handloom Corporation Chairman Chinta Prabhakar, DCMS Chairman Sivakumar, CDC Chairman Umakant Patil, Sangareddy District Sugar Cane Officer Rajasekhar, RDO Venkat Reddy, Atma Committee Chairman Penta Reddy, and officials from various departments.
