As part of an initiative to streamline land governance and enhance citizens’ services, particularly for farmers, the Telangana government is planning to deploy licensed surveyors across every mandal. The official announcement was made in a meeting at the Secretariat.
Hon’ble CM Revanth Reddy will present the licenses to the trained surveyors at an event scheduled to take place at Shilpakala Vedika, Hyderabad on October 19.
According to Hon’ble Minister Shri @INC_Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, each mandal will be assigned 4–6 licensed surveyors to ensure ease of access to land services. “Strengthening the survey system ensures clear land records, fewer disputes, and corruption-free services for the people,” said the Minister.
As part of the Bhoobharthi Act, it is now mandatory for a land survey map to accompany registration. This legislative change underscores the pivotal role surveyors play in land registration.
Among the 10,000 applicants for the surveyor’s license, 7,000 received training and 3,465 passed in the first phase. The next batch of 3,000 trainees began preparation from August 18.
The introduction of licensed surveyors is part of a broader strategy to enhance transparency and efficiency in land governance. This includes filling vacant surveyor posts and using advanced survey equipment.
With the ongoing efforts of the government, the Minister believes that the move will ensure clear land records, fewer disputes, and corruption-free services for the people of Telangana.
