The Telangana Government has decided to introduce an upgraded feature in the “Prohibited List” section of the Bhu Bharathi portal, providing more detailed and village-wise information for citizens.
Currently, the portal lists only the Survey (SY) numbers of prohibited lands, often leaving users uncertain about the exact reason for the restriction. Under the new system, each record will include a clear explanation for prohibition, such as whether the land belongs to government institutions, a court case, a Waqf, an endowment, a forest, or assigned land categories.
Officials said that the update aims to eliminate confusion and prevent fraudulent land transactions, as citizens and developers will be able to verify ownership and restrictions with greater clarity.
The enhanced version will also allow users to search village-wise, making it easier to understand the legal and administrative status of lands in each locality.
According to sources, the new feature is expected to go live on Bhu Bharathi in the coming weeks after integration and verification of the updated datasets from district revenue offices.
