Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has been given relief by the Telangana High Court. The court has dismissed an old legal case against him related to a rail blockade, or “rail roko,” that took place in 2011.

The incident happened on August 15, 2011, in Secunderabad, during the Telangana movement. At the time, several people were arrested by the police. Based on their statements, KCR was named as the 13th accused in the case. A charge sheet was filed against him in the People’s Representatives Court.

Since the case had been pending for many years, KCR filed a petition asking the court to drop the charges. His lawyer argued that KCR was not present at the protest site when the rail blockade took place. However, the prosecution claimed that the event was carried out following KCR’s call for action.

After reviewing the arguments from both sides, the Telangana High Court decided to dismiss the charges against KCR, bringing the case to an end.
