Chief Minister Announces Four New Schemes to Boost Rural Development in Telangana

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the launch of four new welfare schemes in Telangana. These schemes — Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, new ration cards, and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa — aim to support rural development and improve the lives of people across the state. The schemes will officially begin on Sunday, January 26, to mark Republic Day and will be rolled out in one village in every Mandal.

The Chief Minister stated that while the schemes will launch this weekend, the process of identifying beneficiaries will continue until March. Once identified, the financial benefits for Rythu Bharosa and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Despite challenges inherited from the previous government, the Chief Minister assured citizens that the state remains committed to fulfilling its promises.

From February, all villages in Telangana will be included in the schemes. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the schemes are implemented fairly and warned against any irregularities. He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for those involved in malpractice during the execution of these programs.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy held a press briefing to share further details. They confirmed that their departments had finalized plans to identify genuine beneficiaries and deliver the benefits directly, without involving middlemen.

For Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, beneficiaries will be selected from the National Rural Employment Guarantee Program (NREGP) list. Landless agricultural laborers who have worked for at least 20 days under the program will qualify for financial assistance of ₹12,000 annually.

Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy clarified that individuals who had not applied for ration cards under the Praja Palana scheme could still apply through the appropriate authorities. He assured citizens that the eligibility criteria for new ration cards had already been announced, and the issuance process would continue without delays. Additionally, he confirmed that all ration card holders would start receiving fine-quality rice beginning in March.

These new schemes are expected to play a key role in improving the standard of living for rural communities and addressing long-standing challenges in the state.
