Telangana Medical Council Cracks Down on Unqualified Quacks

The Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC) filed 19 cases against unqualified medical practitioners on Monday. The council also sent notices to around 20 individuals and hospitals involved in encouraging quackery. Replies are awaited, and action will be taken accordingly.

According to Section 20 (V) of the Telangana Medical Practitioners Registration Amendment Act 1968, the council can form committees to inspect places where unqualified persons are practicing modern medicine. The public is urged to report such instances immediately.

Council Chairman Dr K Mahesh Kumar asked doctors and the public to report unqualified practitioners by email or WhatsApp.
