The Department for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons in Telangana has announced that eligible persons with disabilities can avail a marriage incentive scheme for the financial year 2025-26.
The Telangana State Government has been implementing the Marriage Incentive Scheme since 2012 to support the economic upliftment of persons with disabilities in the state. Under this welfare initiative, the government provides a financial incentive of Rs 1,00,000 to persons with disabilities who enter into matrimony.
The scheme covers marriages between persons with disabilities and normal persons, as well as marriages between two persons with disabilities. The incentive amount is designed to help beneficiaries establish their married life on a stable financial footing.
According to the official press release from the Director’s office in Hyderabad, applications for this scheme are accepted exclusively through the online portal. Interested applicants must visit http://epass.telangana.gov.in to submit their applications.
A crucial requirement of the scheme is that applications must be submitted within one year of the marriage date. Late applications will not be considered under the current guidelines.
The application process involves multiple levels of verification to ensure transparency and proper disbursement. Once submitted online, the applications are verified by District Welfare Officers and Child Development Project Officers at the district level.
After thorough verification, the incentive is sanctioned to eligible persons with disabilities based on orders issued by the respective District Collector. This multi-tier approval process ensures that only genuine beneficiaries receive the financial assistance.
The Director of the Department for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons has urged all eligible persons with disabilities across Telangana State to take advantage of this beneficial scheme during the current financial year.
The scheme represents the state government’s continued commitment to supporting the welfare and economic independence of persons with disabilities. By providing financial assistance at the time of marriage, the government aims to reduce economic barriers and promote social inclusion for this community.
Eligible applicants are advised to ensure all required documents are ready before applying online and to complete the application process well within the stipulated one-year period from their marriage date.
