Telangana is experiencing heavy rains, prompting state DGP Jitender to place authorities on high alert. So far, rescue teams have saved 2,000 people from flooded regions. The Indian Air Force and Army are aiding with two helicopters.
Jitender mentioned the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), which includes 2,000 members, is actively involved in rescue efforts. They are working closely with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to prevent any loss of life, continuing their effective operations from last year.
In a Thursday talk with ABN Andhra Jyothi, Jitender shared that heavy rain persists across Telangana. He assured that the police are implementing quick relief actions, especially during the ongoing Vinayaka Chavithi festivities.
Although Hyderabad has faced night rains without immediate danger, Jitender is confident in the city’s ability to handle more severe weather. The DGP office has organized relief teams, noting significant road damage in the Kamareddy and Siddipet areas, along with a destroyed railway track. Jitender confirmed that efforts are underway to rapidly repair these transport routes.
