The Telangana power utilities have achieved a historic milestone by supplying the highest-ever electricity in a single day. On March 13, 2026, the state delivered 341.08 Million Units (MU) of power, marking an unprecedented achievement in the state’s power distribution history. The state also successfully met a peak demand of 18,228 MW at 11:17 AM on the same day.

This record-breaking consumption surpassed the previous high of 335.19 Million Units recorded on March 18, 2025. The peak demand of 18,228 MW also exceeded the earlier record of 17,162 MW that was registered on March 20, 2025. The significant increase demonstrates the growing electricity requirements across the state.

Power department officials attributed the surge in electricity demand to rising temperatures and increased agricultural power requirements. The combination of seasonal factors has led to higher consumption patterns across residential, commercial, and agricultural sectors in Telangana.
