Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha announced on Friday that the State government plans to transform Telangana into a health destination. He inaugurated the new DSA lab, which cost Rs.12 crore, and the CPR advanced high-fidelity tech-enabled critical care simulation skill lab, which cost Rs.5 crore.
During the inauguration, the minister handed out appointment certificates to 39 associate professors and 300 staff nurses at NIMS. Rajanarsimha emphasized the national reputation of NIMS and expressed his commitment to further enhancing its brand. He highlighted the efforts being made to achieve international recognition for health education and medical tourism.
The minister also mentioned the government’s focus on developing the education and medical sectors for the next 20 years. During his visit to NIMS, he inspected various departments and discussed the ongoing expansion works with the director. Rajanarsimha praised the opening of the skill lab, the first of its kind in south India, with support from USAID.
NIMS director Dr. Birappa, medical superintendent Dr. Nimma Satyanarayana, Sai Satish from the Department of Cardiology, USAID representatives, and other department heads, doctors, and nursing staff attended the event.
