The Telangana government has made an important decision regarding film screenings. Moving forward, permission for benefit shows will no longer be granted. This announcement was made by Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy during the ongoing Assembly sessions.

The decision comes in the wake of a tragic stampede incident at Sandhya Theater. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed the Assembly about the incident, stating that the chaos stemmed from the actions of film actor Allu Arjun. According to the CM, Allu Arjun acted irresponsibly by attending the theater without proper permissions.

CM Reddy explained the sequence of events leading to the tragedy. He mentioned that Sandhya Theater authorities initially applied for permission on the second day, which the police denied in writing on the third day. Despite this, Allu Arjun and the film’s heroine arrived at the theater on the fourth day. Instead of quietly attending the screening, the actor participated in a roadshow, which led to the stampede.

The stampede had devastating consequences. A mother tragically lost her life while holding her child. Fortunately, her son survived the incident. The CM criticized the actor’s actions, suggesting that he could have avoided the tragedy by arriving discreetly, watching the film, and leaving without creating a public spectacle.

With today’s official announcement in the Assembly, it is now clear that benefit shows for Telugu films in Telangana will face significant restrictions in the future.
