A female student from the Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati was found dead in a hotel in Guwahati. She had come to Guwahati with three of her classmates to celebrate New Year’s Eve. They had booked two hotel rooms online and arrived at the hotel after midnight, appearing to be drunk. The next morning, one of her friends found her unconscious in the washroom. She was taken to the hospital but was declared dead.
The police are investigating the incident and questioning her friends and other individuals. The deceased student was identified as Aishwarya Pulluri, a fourth-year student in the Electronics and Communications department. IIT-Guwahati expressed their condolences to her family and stated that the police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
