The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has issued a warning for heavy rainfall across many parts of Telangana over the next five days. The rain will vary from light to moderate, and temperatures are expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius for the next three days.
Starting Monday, districts like Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba, and Gadwal may experience heavy rain. A yellow alert has been issued for these regions.
On Tuesday, the rain will extend to more areas. Districts likely to be affected include Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and several others that already faced rain on Monday. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds blowing at 30–40 km/h are also expected.
By Wednesday, the rain will spread further. Areas including Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, and more will likely receive heavy rainfall. Lightning and gusty winds will accompany the rain.
The forecast also shows rain and strong winds in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Suryapet. Wind speeds in these areas will also range between 30 to 40 km/h.
Moving into Thursday and Friday, North Telangana will continue to see widespread rain. The yellow alert remains in effect for all impacted districts.
Over the last 24 hours, moderate rain has already hit Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba, and Gadwal.
The highest rainfall recorded so far was 8 centimeters in Maktal, located in Narayanpet district.
Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the wet weather continues throughout the week.
