The Telangana Assembly saw a heated debate after comments made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) sparked controversy. KTR accused Congress leaders of demanding a 30% commission for approving work contracts. This statement led to strong objections from the ruling party members.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other Congress legislators were upset over KTR’s remarks. Bhatti Vikramarka warned BRS members to be careful with their words. His response led to more objections from BRS members, making the situation even more tense in the Assembly.

Bhatti Vikramarka challenged KTR to prove his claims. He demanded that KTR either provide evidence or apologise in the Assembly. He also accused KTR of misleading both the Assembly and the people of Telangana.

In reaction to the controversy, the Speaker decided to remove KTR’s comments from the official records. Following this decision, BRS members walked out of the Assembly in protest. They gathered at the entrance, shouting slogans against the Congress government, calling it a “20-30% government.”
