The Monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly starts on Saturday, promising heated debates between the ruling Congress and opposition BRS. The main topic will be the Justice PC Ghose Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy plan to highlight the previous BRS administration’s actions by presenting the Ghose report. Meanwhile, BRS leaders K T Rama Rao and T Harish Rao aim to challenge the government on this matter. The Chief Minister will outline the next steps based on the report during the session.

An investigation by CID/SIT may be initiated to look into the project’s cost overruns and poor maintenance issues at the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages. Discussion on providing a 42% BC quota in local bodies might also occur, as pending bills await the President’s approval.
