Hyderabad: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), a major player in public sector energy, plans to invest Rs 80,000 crore in Telangana’s renewable energy sector.
On Saturday, NTPC Chairman, Gurdeep Singh, along with an official team, met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. They discussed opportunities for solar and wind power development in the state.
Gurdeep Singh expressed interest in building solar power plants and wind turbines throughout Telangana. He mentioned the state could support up to 6700 MW of floating solar power. NTPC has outlined a plan to invest Rs 80,000 crore to realize this potential.
The Chief Minister quickly responded, assuring that the state government would provide cooperation and logistical support to NTPC for setting up solar facilities.
