Hyderabad gears up for the Ganesh Navaratri festival from August 29 to September 8. The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) has updated its guidelines for setting up and powering Ganesh pandals.

On Sunday, the Chief Engineer (Commercial) highlighted the need for smooth temporary power connections and public safety. These new instructions replace those from August 21 and 22.

Organizers must register for temporary power by September 4. Late applications won’t be accepted. They should apply online at the official TGSPDCL website under the “Registration of Ganesh Pandals 2025” section. A valid mobile number and Aadhaar-linked electricity service number are required.

Safety is a priority. All pandals must use proper earthing, standard wiring, and install ELCBs (Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers). TGSPDCL will inspect to ensure these standards are met.
