Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (South West Zone) along with Chikkadpally police arrested three people for possessing hash oil, a banned drug. They seized 380 grams of the substance, which is worth around ₹3.7 lakh.
The arrested individuals are D Elisha Vali (26), Gajwelli Nikkel Sai (19), and Gonda Arvind Rao (24). Elisha works as a Swiggy delivery person, Sai has a private job, and Arvind works for a domestic courier service.
According to the police, Elisha and Sai planned to make quick money by selling drugs. In March, they traveled to Sileru in Alluri Sitharama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh and bought 500 grams of hash oil from a person named Yesu. They brought the drug to Hyderabad and started selling it.
The police received information and caught Elisha and Sai near Papaiah Estate in Chikkadpally while they were handing over 70 containers of hash oil to Arvind. The drugs were seized on the spot.
A case has been registered under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The police have urged young people and students to stay away from drugs. They also requested parents to keep an eye on their children and to report any suspicious activity to help build a drug-free city.
